Google introduces audio emoji

To make user conversations more fun, Google has introduced a new feature called “Audio Emoji” in their phone app. As reported by 9to5Google, Android users will be able to play six types of sounds during phone calls. These words would be sad, clap, celebrate, laugh, drumroll and poop. The “Audio Emoji” feature was first seen in September last year, when it was called “Sound Reaction”.

This new feature of Google is available in the experimental version. It is expected to be open to all in a few weeks. In this feature, when you play any voice emoji, a small animation will appear on the screen. It is not yet known whether both the caller and the listener will see this animation, but voices will be heard on both sides.

Once the feature is enabled, users will see a floating button on the screen while on a call, which will facilitate sending voice emojis.

This feature will only work in speaker mode. Also, there is a slight gap between sending two-word emojis so that users don't use them repeatedly.
